We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Officer to work for Merseyside Police out of their Police Unit in Warrington.
This is a temporary ongoing position:
1. Monday to Friday, office hours
2. 36.50 hours a week
3. Fully office based
£13.72 per hour.
PLEASE NOTE: Vetting is currently taking up to 6 months.
Due to the nature of the role and this being a requirement for an enhanced vetting and security clearance to be taken place for the successful candidate, you must have been residing within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application. Anything less than this applicants will not be considered.
JOB PURPOSE: To provide a flexible, efficient and effective business support function, thus assisting NWROCU to meet external and internal performance targets.
Responsibilities include:
1. Process purchase orders of suppliers and services, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, availability of budget and exercising the principles of best value.
2. Undertake the routine authorisation and payment of purchase orders and non-order invoices.
3. Provide pool car service to the NWROCU, administering bookings, checking compliance with vehicle checks, service and repair schedules.
4. Arrange travel, accommodation and vehicle hire for officers and staff engaged in NWROCU business.
5. Maintain adequate levels of stationery and administrative equipment for NWROCU.
6. Support the induction and leaver process for all seconded officers and staff at the NWROCU.
7. Act as the first point of contact for all visitors to the NWROCU main HQ.
8. Maintain and update various databases and spreadsheets as required.
9. Assist with general office duties.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
1. A solid understanding of policies and procedures in relation to Administration and Finance.
2. Experience of working within an administrative/clerical role dealing with confidential information.
3. Ability to work flexibly with team members.
4. Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions and taking timely action to resolve them.
5. Computer competence including knowledge of MS Office packages, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
6. Ability to collate and analyse data.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
