What you will do: Undertake high-quality assessments in line with statutory frameworks, ensuring that children's needs are identified and met. Lead on complex cases, providing expert advice and guidance to junior staff and colleagues. Work collaboratively with families, children, and multi-agency professionals, including schools, health services, and the police. Conduct Section 47 child protection investigations and contribute to strategy discussions and case conferences. Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, child protection conferences, and case reviews. Develop and implement care plans that promote children's safety, well-being, and long-term stability. Supervise and mentor newly qualified and junior social workers, supporting their professional development. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice standards, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration. Substantial experience in child protection, safeguarding, and statutory assessments within a local authority setting. Strong knowledge of Children's Social Care legislation and policies. Experience in court work, including preparing legal reports and giving evidence. Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment. Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. A commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of children and families. Enhanced DBS check required.
