Description Job Title: Advanced Apprentice Shipbuilding Design Engineer Location: Glasgow Salary: Starting from £22,463 with annual progression through the scheme duration. What you will be doing: This apprenticeship will enable you to gain experience in Design Engineering, on both current and future export contracts. You will be trained to deliver the following: • To use a 3D modelling/CAD Software to design ships structure, internal layouts as well as the ships pipework, electrical & ventilation systems. • Produce and develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out detail design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained. • Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, either on your own or as a member of a team. Specific activities could include: Design Engineering Apprentices undertake a defined range of Detail Design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and assistance to operations and other functions and ensuring defined goals are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.
