Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE Hours: 30hrs per week Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their friendly and enthusiastic team This role is based at their purpose-built residential rehabilitation centre in Preston which offers a safe and comfortable environment for the people they support to thrive, maximising independence and supports their social and emotional needs. The centre is equipped with a wide range of facilities to help support the delivery of expert care, including a dedicated rehabilitation kitchen fitted with appliances and utensils specially adapted to aid those who are undergoing therapy. A hydrotherapy pool and dedicated gym is also available. There are 40 fully accessible ensuite bedrooms, large airy lounges and dining areas. Our chefs prepare fresh menus designed to meet a wide range of dietary needs. Tailored rehabilitation programmes are delivered within a dedicated occupational therapy kitchen. Main Responsibilities To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of service users in their care. To ensure high standards of clinical care for the service users under their management and support others to do likewise To undertake comprehensive assessment of service users, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised rehabilitation and treatment plans To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service users’ experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service users and their representatives To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy. To ensure appropriate provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources To ensure that up to date written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with Professional and Brainkind standards, and that sensitive information is held securely. To demonstrate clinical leadership and promote clinical supervision. To share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching To be responsible for raising the awareness of the team regarding clinical governance and clinical risk issues and for implementing clinical governance policies, standards, and guidelines Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks. About You Diploma/BSC in Occupational Therapy Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council Relevant post graduate training in appropriate speciality Evidence of Continued Professional Development Experience of working in a relevant setting Demonstrable experience of using evidence-based practice and outcome measures Skilled knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning. An ability to work autonomously and to set own and others’ priorities. An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance. An ability to organise, coordinate and respond efficiently to complex information.
