We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Team Leadto join our Urgent Care team at the Clinical Assessment Unit and Planned Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital.
As the Clinical Team Lead, you will work autonomously to manage a caseload of patients, acting as a leadassuming responsibility and accountability for assessing, implementing andevaluating care for the designated clinical area.
You will provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planneddelivery and evaluation of individualised care.
Exercises judgement in identifying, assessing and interpreting complicatedconditions, where a range of options require consideration for the treatmentand discharge planning for patients attending the clinical assessment unit.
Able to plan and organise a number of activities within the unit with regards todemand of the service and the allocation and re-allocation of staff
Ensures that all staff including temporary staff and students in the unit areaware of emergency procedures to follow.
Leads others in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care ofpatients in the unit in accordance with departmental protocols prior todischarge home or transfer of the patient to another hospital
When necessary, assists others in planning duty rotas to meet therequirements of the clinical area and the needs of the patients.
With due regard to Risk Management policies and procedures, ensures that asafe environment for patients, relatives, carers and staff is maintained.
To be familiar with the Major Incident Policy, has the knowledge and skills toassist as directed within that plan, should the need arise.
To ensure provision of professional leadership and supervision to staff withinown discipline and facilitation of appropriate professional leadership for otherdisciplines.
To act as role model for managing difficult and complex behaviours/situationstreat others with care and compassion, demonstrate professionalism anduphold the Trust Values at all times.

Accountable for the direct delivery of care to patients attending Clinicalassessment Unit and Planned Treatment Centre. Responsible for assessing, treating and discharging or referral to other professionals.
Takes responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of high standards of nursingcare. Leads and participates in Nursing and clinical audit in the Unit collectingand collating information as required
Responsible for the management of the Unit in the absence of the Deputy Operational Head of Service, when required to do so, record and monitor sickness and to take corrective action where necessary. Participates in managing resources; human and material.
Ensures the application of local standards, policies and philosophies which further the philosophy of patient centred, individual and evidence based carefor all patients. In conjunction with other senior nurses, ensures that an annualtraining needs of junior staff are being maintained, and which is communicatedto the Clinical Lead.
Ensures evidence based innovative practice in the delivery of nursing care andsupports others in the implementation of changes identified to improve care.
Ensures that all medical and emergency equipment is kept in a safe condition,regularly checked and is ready for use when required, and that faultyequipment is reported and/or replaced as necessary.
To develop an understanding of the delegated budget for the unit, andparticipate in the procedure for ordering supplies within the agreed budget.
