Were currently recruiting for a Technical Officer (RPS) Location: Bolton Salary: Grade 4 - £32,767 - £36,197 Basis: Full Time Contracted Hours: 36 Hours Package: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) Working Pattern: Monday - Friday Why is the role important? Our team of Technical Officers helps to achieve our commitment to maintaining and improving our housing stock to the Decent Homes standard. The Technical Officer role will assess and make recommendations for refurbishment to customers homes and will assist the Building Surveyors and Liaison Officers on larger building projects. Key Outcomes Be integral to the delivery of vital repairs and maintenance works on our properties, to ensure our customers live in good quality, safe homes, which meet or exceed the Decent Homes Standard. Contribute to the strategic improvement and sustainability of the housing stock. Ensure the organisations commitment to collaborating with customers and getting it right first time. To assist the Building Surveyors, to be accountable for the successful contract management of remedial works both within timescale and budget, providing Customer First outcomes and high levels of satisfaction. Whats involved? Advise on conditions in properties and localities, and provide options for resolutions on current and proposed schemes. Undertake building and site surveys including: Producing CAD generated contract drawings and documentation including schedules of work, using both JCT & TPC2005 contract formats. Preparing detailed estimates and fixed price quotations including Contact administration. Completing site inspections to include prestart, work in progress and post contract for repairs and improvement working which is ongoing. Conduct pre- and post-inspection surveys to diagnose potential or existing areas of disrepair and ensure their effective resolution. Supporting the ongoing compliance both legal and regulatory. Support management with matters relating to Health and Safety and CDM Regulations, including preparing Safety Plans and Safety Files for approval and conducting Risk Assessments. Work with and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers and internal teams, on the development of complex pilot schemes, projects and programmes. Follow and interpret legislation with regards to Building Regulations, Construction Design Management Regulations, Planning, Health & Safety and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
