The position will be based in Farnborough, UK.
Fluor's office in Farnborough, Hampshire is one of the company's main execution centers undertaking projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Farnborough itself has excellent transport links and is located 35 minutes from London via train.
You will be part of the PDS, a global team of subject matter experts, process architects, and equipment engineers within the Advanced Technology & Life Sciences Division of Fluor. Our team serves the life sciences, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, and battery manufacturing industries, delivering as many as fifty projects per year.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Lead process design activities to support Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Advanced Technologies projects.
2. Provide engineering and technical support for complex projects, acting as the main interface with clients, discipline engineers, and management.
3. Develop process flow and integrated equipment diagrams to aid in the preparation of facility general arrangements.
4. Work closely with the architectural team to arrange and size equipment to meet the needs of the client's process.
5. Analyze design challenges, evaluate options, and recommend solutions.
6. Support business development efforts to secure new projects for the PDS.
7. Plan and execute process tasks per contract requirements.
8. Support estimating activities and equipment pricing.
9. Support the development of proposals.
10. Share advanced chemical engineering practices and strategies within Fluor.
11. Maintain contact with external consultants and organizations for specialized services.
12. Mentor and train Fluor process engineers.
Basic Job Requirements:
1. Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fifteen years of work-related experience is required.
2. The ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
3. Demonstrate an elevated level of technical knowledge in one or more of the manufacturing sectors served by ATLS.
4. Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions.
5. Technical and business writing skills.
6. Basic understanding of design, engineering, procurement, equipment design, construction, commissioning, start up, turnover work processes, sequencing, and interfaces.
7. Ability to resolve problems and to be comfortable in complex projects or business environments.
8. Ability to travel periodically to other Fluor offices or client locations in support of projects or routine business needs.
Other Job Requirements:
1. Experience in leading complex process design projects for one or more of the industry segments PDS serves.
2. Regulatory experience and networking with industry organizations contemporaries and client culture.
3. Experience collaborating with multi-discipline project teams and understanding of scope requirements at the different project design phases.
