The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking assistant to work in the College’s Media and Communications Centre. The successful applicant will be required to provide support in a variety of areas including:
* Developing teacher-led e-learning resources
* Designing and structuring their Teams sites with the Heads of Department
* Uploading and effectively arranging learning materials onto SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
* Updating the College’s website
* Assisting with photography, filming, and editing video content
The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis. The hours of work are from 9.15am to 2.30pm, Monday to Wednesday and from 9.15am to 3.00pm on Thursday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day), term-time only (39 weeks per year).
The post requires commitment, excellent organisational and administrative skills, along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly and to work well as part of a team are essential.
Full training on the advanced features of Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and other relevant software can be provided. Previous experience in photography, video editing and using Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Photoshop and Acrobat) would be desirable. The successful applicant will ideally have an interest in IT and Media, and an enthusiasm for learning, along with a desire to help people, solve ILT-related problems and seek new ILT solutions to meet the needs of our learners and colleagues.
The post carries an expectation for some very occasional mandatory evening activities (Open Evenings). However, there are numerous optional opportunities for evening work (Interview Evenings for Students) should the postholder be interested in them for additional remuneration.
Department
The Department is housed in the Independent Learning Centre. The post holder will work closely with the Media and Communications Centre Manager and will liaise regularly with Heads of Department, Course Leaders, and other staff.
The salary for this post is £11,432.95 (£24,941 FTE) per annum and will increase to £11,657.57 (£25,431 FTE) per annum based on 19.5 hours per week (45.84%).
