British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. Hourly rate: £13.05 per hour, with a shift allowance, to be discussed with the recruiting manager. Main Scope of Role Sampling process streams across a large manufacturing site, carrying out both routine and ad-hoc analysis to support process development and optimisation. Key Areas Candidates will be expected to perform the following: Safe collection of manufacturing samples from the factory. Updating of laboratory sample inventory. Carry out specific sample preparation and analysis methods according to instruction in a safe manner. Accurate and organised recording of results. Flagging and discussion of issues and observations. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment to ensure smooth running. Engage and cooperate with other team members to deliver on a dynamic work schedule. Travel with team members to other British Sugar sites Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required Good communication and timekeeping skills Ability to carry out simple mathematical calculations. Strong safety awareness Basic IT knowledge Knowledge, Skills & Experience Desirable Previous experience working in the laboratory environment. Scientific qualifications at GCSE/GCE level.
