What you’ll do:
This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security direction to the Site. Individual is accountable for: Coordinating and leading EHS activities at his/her location(s); internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and ensuring documents are available in the local languages. Position is responsible for:
* Supporting the site in achieving EHS objectives and targets. Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.
* Facilitating risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
* Accident/incident/near miss investigations.
* Preparing and coordinating monthly HSE committee meetings.
* Conducting workplace inspections.
* Supporting creation of EHS goals for the EHS Manager, Site Manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
* Supporting EHS Manager and Plant Manager in the assignment of MESH element champions and facilitating their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
* Driving and promoting zero incident EHS culture throughout the site.
* Creating and facilitating EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established objectives and targets for the year.
* Working with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
* Pursuing third-party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world-class.
* Using established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
* Supporting the creation of training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion.
* Working with site leadership team and facilities management to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
* Supporting the supervision of EHS activities on site.
* Fulfilling the duties of the EHS Manager in their absence, ensuring site coverage lead.
Qualifications:
* Degree or relevant qualification in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline desired, but not essential.
* 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment with a bias towards/exposure to environmental, health and safety program management and employee training.
Skills:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement).
* IEMA qualification desirable.
* System management knowledge & internal auditing experience of ISO14001 & ISO45001.
* Knowledge of EHS Regulations, REACH compliance, conducting safety audits, accident investigation, safety programs, compliance monitoring, safety standards, environmental sustainability.
* Ability to integrate EHS with other functions.
* Ability to manage, develop, and direct subordinates.
* Ability to thrive in a matrixed management environment.
* Ability to act as an agent of change. Effective in enabling and driving change.
* Delivering all communication with clarity, impact and passion, and tailored to the audience.
