Essential for this role:
Valid drivers licence and ability to drive
Good computer skills

We are looking for someone who has some shared interests, baking, arts and crafts and using an iPad and someone who is compassionate, your kindness and patience will make all the difference to your relationship with them. The twins need someone who can see their potential and someone who will work with them to problem solve and enjoy their activities and importantly, encourage them on their journey to living their best life. This is a job where you really get to make a difference.

Currently the twins are supported in their family home by their dad and so you really need to understand and value the importance of family relationships. He is a very important person in their life, and you will be working closely with him. The main communication method is British Sign Language. If you have any experience of using this, it would be an advantage, but full training will be given to the right person.

We are looking for someone who really is a specialist in their role and someone who is willing and able to go beyond the limits to support the twins on the next step of their journey.
You must have:
Patience, an ability to stay calm under pressure, a willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to building relationships.
Previous experience of working effectively with young adults with autism and commitment to them learning new skills and getting a good life that makes sense to them
Willingness to engage with an exciting training package, including intensive interaction, PECs, TEACCH and British Sign Language as well as understanding Positive Behaviour Support and how to manage, challenge and change.
