We are looking for a Construction Engineering Inspector at a Specialist level for airport and other construction projects. Position Responsibilities: Perform construction observation, oversight, and administration at a high level on airfield and non-airfield construction projects. Develop a deep understanding of construction standards, including DOT specifications, FAA Advisory Circulars, and general construction work methods, in order to bring construction projects to successful completion. Develop understanding of the construction contract documentation and processes, including procurement, bidding, pay applications and submittals, and closeout. Develop successful communication strategies which, in putting the needs of the project first, brings construction projects to on-time, on-budget, and on-quality completion. Serve as Resident Project Representative on smaller construction projects, taking on responsibility per the FAA specifications and individual project contract documents. Stay up to date with industry trends surrounding construction technology, construction delivery methods, document management techniques, and project administration mechanisms. · Manage or assist in managing a project team to complete Connico deliverables; including schedules, estimates, constructability reviews, project controls work, escort or badging services, planning projects and related services, or other projects. Participate in a project team, as required, to complete Connico deliverables not listed above, including estimating. Produce quality deliverables working with both levels of detailed design and planning-level or ROM-level documents. Train and mentor others on technical and non-technical topics, sharing knowledge through the company. Lead and manage an internal team to achieve project goals on projects, including on-time delivery of deliverables, producing reports which meet Connico’s core values and high standard of quality, utilizing and training other Connico staff, communicating project changes or challenges to the company, and bringing the project in on budget. Maintain client relationships and assist in maintaining client relationships through regular client interface, both on projects and through interaction not related to projects. Assist in keeping report templates accurate, and provide input on how they are stored and accessed by staff. Travel may be required, including visits to conferences, client offices, project sites, or other company offices. This may include long-term temporary relocation for specific construction projects. Position Requirements: Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, project management, related field or equivalent knowledge / experience required. 6 years related experience providing onsite construction inspection or project management in varied market segments, airfield / airport experience preferred. Proven track record of managing and leading the construction of projects, including: responsibility for document control, oversight of quantity reconciliation and project cost, oversight and coordination of material testing and material testing results, successful communication with all project stakeholders, and professionally communicating with clients. Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and engineering drawings and specifications (both at high levels of design and at the planning stage) and architectural and engineering reports. Ability to transmit this information to others. Proficiency in basic office software including Adobe, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Certification, including PE, PMP, CCM, or similar is preferred but not required. Familiarity with construction management software programs such as Appia, Procore, or E-Builder is preferred but not required.
