Business Manager Southern Europe – Bromley Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties, and annual revenues of almost €2 billion in 2022. With the most modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross-border basis, the Group supplies to a broad customer base including some of the world’s foremost ‘blue chip’ companies across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice and consumer food channels on a domestic Ireland, UK, European and global basis. The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland. Applications are invited for the above position to work as part as our International Team based in Bromley. The Role The role is responsible for developing and growing Lakeland Dairies’ portfolio of brands in Southern Europe and to manage key existing distributor relationships. The role will develop and grow Southern Europe business (Spain, Portugal, & North Africa) against key objectives and develop and exceed budgeted sales and profit measures as well as lead JBP negotiations and regional strategy. The Person The successful candidate should have substantial sales and account management experience in FMCG and experience of working with food service channel and/or retailers with an understanding of their systems and ways of working in head office and stores. It is desirable that the successful candidate also has experience of the development of joint business plan and can demonstrate experience of new business development. Experience with complex supply chains is essential. Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential as is the ability to demonstrate a breadth of experience across commercial functions such as sales / marketing / category management. It would also be advantageous if the person is able to demonstrate experience with import of goods, and experience of ISB or similar. Strong analytical and numerical skills and a knowledge of SAP BI would also be considered desirable. The person should be a self-driven individual with strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with an entrepreneurial approach and action orientated. Being able to demonstrate skills in building customer relationships at both distributor, sub distributor and end user level and the capability to build compelling selling stories is essential.
