Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: After February 2025 Half Term

GSL Education are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Scunthorpe to work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. About The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students both academically and emotionally, helping them engage positively in their learning and overcome challenges. Your role will be key in creating a structured and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities Of An SEMH TA
1. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
2. Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies to support student development.
3. Encourage positive social interactions and emotional well-being.
4. Support students in regulating their emotions and managing challenging behaviour.
5. Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to ensure student progress.
6. Adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.
7. Help create a safe and structured learning environment.
8. Build strong relationships with students to foster trust and motivation.
9. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Qualification
1. Experience working with children with SEMH needs as a SEMH Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
2. A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field.
3. Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, understanding approach.
4. Ability to build positive relationships with students and provide emotional support.
5. Knowledge of strategies to support mental health and well-being in students.
6. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
7. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
8. An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
