Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a maintenance assistant at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to join our busy Estates & Facilities Management Team. The maintenance assistant will be employed to work across all engineering disciplines. Maintenance assistants will be employed to work appropriate to their core specialist skills. They will however progressively be suitably trained to acquire elements of each other's skills with the intention of reaching levels of flexibility and competence to enable them to achieve and apply the ability where required to perform the summary duties listed below. The post holder will provide the day-to-day maintenance to NUH properties at the City campus site. This will be in the form of either reactive tasks or pre planned maintenance to ensure statuary compliance is met. Required to organise own day to day work tasks or activities along with planning and organising of straightforward tasks with Ward Managers/other Managers when working in occupied areas. Applicant must have significant experience related to construction and minor new work and building maintenance work in large organisations along with being competent in the use of both power and hand tools. The post holder will be expected to be guided by standard operating procedures, good practice and be able to understand what results and standards are to be achieved.
