Position Overview:
Nter Talent is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the sales team of a client company. The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, ensuring competitive and profitable bids, and contributing to the successful delivery of BEMS solutions. This position is crucial for maintaining the company’s reputation for high-quality and innovative services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for control and automation projects in sectors such as labs, science centres, MOD sites, and commercial buildings.
* Project Analysis: Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to identify the scope of work and key requirements. Participate in site surveys as needed.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, commissioning, and project management teams to gather necessary data for precise cost estimation.
* Trend Systems Expertise: Use your knowledge of Trend systems to account for all relevant components and functionalities in the estimates.
* Supplier Quote Evaluation: Review supplier quotes to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with project goals.
* Database Maintenance: Update and maintain a company database of historical costs and pricing to support future estimates.
* Bid Review: Participate in bid review meetings, offering insights and recommendations to optimize project profitability and feasibility.
* Proposal Support: Assist in the preparation of proposals and tender documents, ensuring all financial aspects are well-defined and clear.
* Industry Monitoring: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and market conditions to refine and improve estimation practices.
* Project Handover: Provide detailed documentation and clarification of estimated costs to project managers during handover, ensuring smooth project execution.
Required Qualifications:
* Experience: Demonstrated experience in estimating within the control and automation systems industry, with a focus on BEMS or related fields.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency with Trend systems and strong knowledge of commissioning and engineering processes related to automation systems.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
* Software Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
* Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
* Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy.
* Industry Knowledge: Understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Professional certifications related to estimating, project management, or automation systems.
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).
* Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software is advantageous.

Working Conditions:
* Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
* Remote Work: Primarily remote (90%), with occasional travel to the office in Pangbourne, Reading, for bi-monthly meetings with the line manager during the first six months.
* Travel: Some travel to project sites may be required.
* On-Call Responsibilities: Not required.
