Job Advertisement: Weld Technician / Supervisor Position: Weld Technician / Supervisor Location: Uk (Midlands and surrounding areas preferred) Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) Employment Type: Full-Time Are you an experienced weld technician or supervisor with a strong background in welding processes, quality assurance, and documentation? We are looking for a Weld Technician / Supervisor to join our team and ensure excellence in welding operations for new and ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities: Welding Matrix Management: Update and maintain the welding matrix, ensuring that electronic and physical copies of certificates are current and organized. Project Estimation Assistance: Support in estimating welding work for new project tenders, considering labour, materials, consumables, and processes. Procedure Planning: Establish required welding procedures for upcoming projects, coordinating necessary approvals. Welder Approval and Procedure Execution: Plan and manage welder approvals, organize necessary materials and equipment, and initiate new welding procedures. Procedure Review and Documentation: Review welding procedures and approvals, working closely with test houses to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards. NDT Inspections: Perform on-site NDT inspections (PT/VT) and document results in NDT reports. Consumables Management: Track and maintain inventory for welding consumables. Material and Calibration Tracking: Monitor and verify material and calibration certificates. Weld Supervision and Support: Supervise welders, acting as the first point of contact for technical assistance, reporting, and problem-solving. Guidance on In-House Fabrications: Provide welding procedure support and guidance to in-house fabrication teams. Welding Procedure Development: Draft and implement new welding procedures for contract-specific activities. Construction Manager Support: Advise construction managers on quality and weldingrelated matters. Subcontractor Review: Review and maintain records for subcontractor certifications, including inspector credentials, welding procedures, and approvals. Site Visits: Conduct ad hoc visits to support contracted works on-site. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in welding supervision, procedure management, and non-destructive testing (NDT). Strong understanding of welding processes and consumables management. Familiarity with quality documentation, procedure approvals, and certification requirements. Excellent communication skills for liaising with construction managers, welders, and subcontractors. Ability to oversee and support multiple projects, ensuring compliance and quality standards.
