The Canteen Cook is a key player in ensuring the effective operation of our office canteen, catering to approximately 20-40 employees. You will work independently to provide a complete canteen service that reflects our organisational behaviours. Your role will involve preparing a variety of meals, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a safe and welcoming dining environment.
This is a part-time position requiring attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Key Duties:
-Meal Preparation: Prepare and produce home made hot and cold meals, including sandwiches, pies and cakes, ensuring quality and presentation meet organisational standards.
-Inventory Management: Order and purchase goods on a weekly basis, maintaining portion and stock control to minimise waste.
-Cleanliness and Compliance: Maintain a clean kitchen and dining area before, during, and after service, adhering to all regulatory requirements related to health and safety.
-Financial Accountability: Cash up takings on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all transactions.
-Replenishment of Refreshments: Regularly restock and replenish beverages and snacks in the canteen to ensure a consistent supply for employees throughout the day.
-Event Catering: Provide buffets and catering for meetings and training sessions as required.
-Budget Management: Manage and maintain agreed budgets in collaboration with the Office Manager, ensuring efficient use of resources.
ABOUT YOU
Skills & Knowledge
Essential:
-Food Safety Qualification: A certification demonstrating knowledge of safe food handling practices.
Desirable:
-Microsoft Office Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for inventory and order management.
-Food Hygiene Certification: Preferred, but not essential.
