As part of a review of leadership provision in adult social care, we are now seeking four experienced professionals with excellent communication and leadership skills to join us as Strategic Service Manager responsible for our Home First, Access and Digital, Learning Disability and Autism, and Mental Health and Safeguarding service areas. About the Roles As a Strategic Service Manager, you will be a key member of our Adults and Communities Leadership Team. Responsible for providing direction and clear leadership for your area of responsibility, you will support your Head of Service by translating policy into service delivery, anticipating and responding to national, regional and local drivers, and providing senior level policy advice, guidance and support. Under the direction of the Strategic Service Manager, you will work with colleagues to promote and develop new ways of working and lead cultural change and improvement programmes. You will establish frameworks, targets and performance measures that ensure value for money, quality service delivery and drive forward continuous improvement. Using your strong management and leadership skills, you will ensure that your teams develop and promote services that enable people to meet their own needs and risks. You will work closely with departmental colleagues and partner organisations to maximise opportunities and support for the people of Leicestershire, developing innovative, practical solutions that translate service strategy and vision into effective integrated services. About You To apply for these posts, you must: Be educated to degree level (or have equivalent management experience) or hold an appropriate professional qualification in social work or occupational therapy (social work or information technology for the Strategic Service Manager - Access and Digital role) and a management qualification or evidence of continual professional management development. Have substantial adult social care experience (adult social care and/or technology solution experience for the Strategic Service Manager - Access and Digital role) at a policy or operational management level, and experience of dealing with a wide range of strategy/policy issues and in a multidisciplinary and/or multi-agency setting. Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of health and social care legislation, policy, and best practice including knowledge specific to the post’s area of responsibility plus excellent knowledge of partnership agencies in statutory, voluntary, and independent sectors. Have strategic and business planning experience including experience of managing and implementing change and performance improvement programmes, budget management, delivering significant efficiency savings, and successfully prioritising between competing service demands. Have demonstrable experience in managing and implementing change and performance improvement programmes. Have experience of safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable people at a strategic level. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
