It takes a cool, calm, and collected person to handle the day-to-day complexity of managing drivers and customer service agents, overseeing fleet scheduling, and associated administrative responsibilities. You’ll need to have experience within the transport industry in a supervisory capacity, and should be able to build teams, involve people, motivate, recognise, and reward achievement. You’ll also need to show that you have experience with continuous improvement and know how to plan and organise tasks.
You’ll be working on a military estate and will be responsible for MoD vehicles and equipment, so it’ll help if you are familiar with them and have working knowledge of MOD transport policy contained in JSP800 and entitlements to transport contained in various publications.
Your customer service skills will prove important in this role, because as a business our customers are our priority and being able to identify their needs and effectively respond to them will be a great factor in being successful in this role. Ready to join the team?
You must have a fully valid UK driving licence and good knowledge of EU driver’s hours and tachograph legislation, as well as good working knowledge and use of IT packages including Web based applications.
You’ll also need to have experience dealing with problem resolution and a proven track record in customer facing operation, able to demonstrate good customer service ethos.
Other desirable but not so essential qualifications include having a National or International management CPC, Defence Transport Manager qualifications or good H&S awareness ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent.
Salary: up to £32,100 depending on experience
Location: Tidworth and Bulford
