Principal Building Control Officer – Housing Grants and Building Control
Location: Sardis House, South Wales
Contract: 7th April 2025 – 13 Weeks (Ending Approx. 6th July 2025)
Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday–Friday (Times TBC)
Pay: PAYE: £20.31/hour | Limited/Umbrella: £25.30/hour + agency support benefits

What You’ll Do:
* Offer technical guidance on building control matters to the team, public, staff, and developers.
* Manage a complex workload, overseeing various schemes and liaising with partners to meet objectives.
* Supervise consultants (e.g., Structural Engineers, Fire Engineers, Access Consultants) to ensure quality delivery.
* Address dangerous structures during working hours and support health and safety initiatives for the team.
* Deputise for the Housing Grants and Building Control Manager, assisting with service promotion and income generation.
What We’re Looking For:
* Skills: Strong technical expertise, project management, and the ability to assess legislative impacts.
* Qualities: Proactive, collaborative, and adept at managing complex workloads with a focus on results.
* Experience: Extensive experience in complex building control projects, ideally within a local authority.
* Qualifications: HNC/HND in Construction and the Built Environment; substantial knowledge of Building Regulations.
* Bonus Points: Evidence of recent CPD; experience supervising consultants or working on housing grants.
