As a Cycling Instructor, you will be using your empathy and engagement skills to help learners take the big step of cycling on the road with traffic. You'll always work alongside at least one other Instructor, providing mutual support. Understanding and supporting your learners' situations and feelings are key to helping them progress.
You don't need to be a sports cyclist to apply for this role; you will just need to be competent at cycling. You will be gradually introduced to the role, first observing other Instructors at work, then being an extra Instructor, then receiving support visits from our Assurer Instructors.

To apply, alongside your CV, you will be asked to answer the following questions:
* Why would you like to be a cycling instructor?
* How would the role fit into your commitments and plans?
* How does your experience relate to the qualities an Instructor needs to help someone progress? Please give examples. Your experiences can be in employment or a voluntary setting and can be related to cycle training or some other form of learning.
* Part of the national standard for cycle training is to "review and improve" your own cycling. Please tell us your assessment of your own cycling ability.
