Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will play a vital part in implementing care plans and supervising daily activities, while also fostering a warm and supportive environment for our senior residents.
Responsibilities
1. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
2. Implement and monitor individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident.
3. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
4. Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance as needed to maintain high standards of care.
5. Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
6. Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
7. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance leadership skills within the team.
8. Foster a positive atmosphere within the care home by engaging residents in social activities and promoting their independence.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is desirable.
2. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families.
3. Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them accurately.
4. Leadership qualities with experience in supervising staff preferred.
5. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
6. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating within the team are beneficial.
7. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors is essential.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

1. Teignmouth (Devon): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
1. providing care: 1 year (preferred)
2. supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
1. Driving Licence (preferred)
2. NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
