Job Title: Security Systems Engineer
Location: Midlands/ Requires nationwide Site Visits
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000
Overview: A leading UK-based company is seeking a skilled Security Systems Engineer with expertise in IP cameras and networking to join their expanding team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of CCTV systems across various sites nationwide. Experience with equipment from Hikvision, Dahua, UNV, Aspect, and Flir is highly desirable. The position requires flexibility for travel and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP-based CCTV systems in line with industry standards.
2. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems are operating optimally.
3. Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including camera malfunctions and network connectivity problems.
4. Carry out system upgrades, firmware updates, and software installations as needed.
5. Work closely with clients to understand their security needs and deliver tailored solutions.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including system diagrams and service reports.
7. Stay informed on the latest developments in security systems technology and industry trends.
8. Provide training to end-users on system operations and functionalities.
9. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations during installations and maintenance.
10. Travel to various locations across the UK as required by the role.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience as a Security Systems Engineer or in a similar role, focusing on IP cameras and networking.
2. Extensive knowledge of security equipment brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, UNV, Aspect, and Flir.
3. Strong understanding of IP-based CCTV systems, video surveillance, and related technologies.
4. Proficient in network configuration and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and network protocols.
5. Familiarity with server and storage technologies used in security systems.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong time management capabilities.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
9. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and stay away from home when required.
