We currently have an 18 - 22 hours vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse to join the team, working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and are flexible with start and finish times.
From June 2025, there will also be the opportunity for the candidate to work additional hours to cover maternity leave, if of interest.
You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we look to relocate to a new build site in late 2025, not far from our current site in Whitley Bay.
The practice is open between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our busy, friendly GP practice. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills.
Working under the direct supervision of the GPs and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Practice Nurse will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.
* Chronic disease management according to protocols.
* Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
* Health promotion.
* Learning Disability Checks.
* Cytology.
* Wound care.
* Removal of Sutures.
* Travel Risk assessment, immunisations and advice.
* Venepuncture.
* Childhood immunisations.
About us
Beaumont Park Medical Group provides primary care services to over 6,500 patients, with three long standing GP Partners, working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team including Advanced Practitioner, Practice Nursing and HCA Team, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Physio, Frailty Nurse, and Social Prescriber.
The clinicians are supported by a Reception, Administration and Secretarial Team.
In the 2024 National GP Patient Survey, we scored highly for our patient's overall experience of the practice.
We are a member of Whitley Bay Primary Care Network, and aim to be a training practice in 2025, providing training opportunities for doctors in training.
Job responsibilities
* The post holder is responsible for the delivery of general practice nursing to the whole practice population.
* The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with a long-term condition and the provision of preventative health care to the practice population.
* As an autonomous practitioner, the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision making in the management of patients.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care.
* Competence in chronic disease management, e.g., diabetes, asthma, hypertension.
* Experience with vaccinations, cytology, and wound care.
* Excellent clinical skills, including history taking and care planning.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience with QOF targets and audits.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the practice.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) with valid NMC registration.
