The Quest Academy is looking for a skilled and passionate Teacher of Religious Studies to join our successful Faculty.
The Quest Humanities team is very strong and delivers consistently high standards – at both GCSE and A-Level. The Faculty is well established and an area of excellent practice – it is a fantastic place to accelerate the development of your own teaching skills and share ideas on what makes outstanding learning. We would very much welcome an application from you.
What does the role involve?
The main aim of this role is to deliver exceptional teaching and learning for the fantastic students of our great school. In RS, we teach students from Year 7 to Year 13 and the subject is compulsory for all students in Year 7 to 11. You will be required to actively engage in up-to-date teaching pedagogy and contribute to the continual improvement and refinement of RS teaching. To do this, you will benefit from 50% additional non-contact time above your standard PPA time (as is the case for all our teachers). This time is specifically designed to facilitate engagement with improving teaching pedagogy.
You will also join one of our 3 Houses as a Form Tutor and through this vital role help students settle for the day and develop the learning attributes required to engage in active learning.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching RS and is able to share this enthusiasm with their students so they develop a real thirst for knowledge. You will need to be a teacher who is capable of building strong relationships with students and families to help maximise this enthusiasm and thirst for learning. The ability to deliver a second humanities subject in addition to RS would be preferable.
The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.
