A multi-award-winning veterinary practice in rural Lancashire is seeking a confident and passionate Farm Animal & Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join its supportive and experienced team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse caseload, including family-run dairy farms, pedigree beef and sheep, smallholders, and equine sports and leisure clients.
The Practice & Team

* The farm and equine department operates from a purpose-built barn conversion, offering on-site facilities such as a large animal theatre, stables, and a developing lameness workup arena.
* The practice is equipped with high-quality portable diagnostic tools, including mobile CR X-rays, battery-powered ultrasound scanners, and modern video endoscopes.
* The experienced team includes six farm and equine vets and 15 small animal vets, with advanced veterinary practitioners and certificate holders in surgery, medicine, pharmacology, and dentistry.
* The team values collaboration, mentorship, and continuous professional development, with opportunities to specialize and pursue certifications.
The Role & Rota
* A mix of farm and equine work, with support for specific interests.
* 1 in 5 first on-call rota, with a half-day off after night duty and Friday afternoon off following a worked weekend.
* Three out of five weekends are completely undisturbed, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
* Vets finish at 5:30 PM, ensuring structured working hours.
* Backup is always available, with a 1 in 5 second on-call system.
