Job Description
As a Proposal Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our business development efforts by coordinating the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals to clients. You will work closely with technical experts, project managers, and other stakeholders in the team to ensure that proposals are achievable, accurate, and submitted on time. Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the end-to-end proposal development process, from initial receipt of Request for Proposal (RFP) to final submission.
* Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and business development personnel to gather necessary information and develop proposal content.
* Develop, write, and edit proposal content to ensure clarity, compliance, and consistency with company standards and client requirements.
* Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met and submissions are complete.
* Review and analyse RFPs, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other solicitation documents to identify key requirements and ensure compliance.
* Maintain a proposal database and repository, including tracking proposal status, maintaining proposal templates, and managing past performance references.
* Assist in developing and maintaining proposal development processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
* Support the development of marketing materials, presentations, and other business development initiatives as needed.
Required education/experience & attributes
* A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
* At least 2-3 years of experience in the marine geophysical industry, preferably within the renewable sector, or related industries.
* Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Full valid UK driving licence
Desired but not essential education/experience & attributes:
* Party Chief experience
* Previous experience of mobilising, maintaining and calibrating survey equipment including multibeam echo sounders
* Previous experience of mobilising, maintaining and calibrating sub bottom profiler systems.
* Work experience working with GIS and spatial data
* Prior industry experience working within a geophysical surveying role or related industry
* Project management experience
* Previous work experience of using hydrographic software, such as QINSy, Teledyne PDS or Caris HIPS & SIPS
* Knowledge of Hydrographic survey planning and reporting
* Experience with creating charts (QGIS & ArcGIS)
* Experience with a scripting language (Python)
