We pride ourselves as a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. The Titchfield facility boasts extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types. This individual will provide leadership and technical guidance to the Engineering Services team covering a range of activities including: management of service delivery for subcontracted engineering services, test rig design, test facility maintenance and compliance, development test & assembly resource management. The position is a part of the Engineering Leadership team within the Titchfield UK site operating unit and performs and leads activities related to the design, development, testing, support, and service of airframe fuel products. Typical products include fuel and air valves, actuation and electro-mechanical pump products and systems for military and commercial aerospace applications. What you'll do: - Ensures a safe environment for test and product assembly execution and proactively addresses safety issues relating to personnel, visitors, facilities, equipment, test setups and regulatory compliance. Develops a lab safety culture and 5S program that exceeds the site expectations. - Responsibility for operational cost, quality and on time delivery of test programs in support of engineering team commitments including the design of test rigs, build of test units for development, qualification and in support of hand over to the production team. - Manages and reports lab metrics including safety, first pass yield, cost, and efficiency. - Ensures all lab equipment is ready for use and properly maintained and calibrated. - Manages the design, development and manufacture of test equipment for internal use as well as sales to customers per their requirements, regulatory requirements and Eaton standards. - Effective management of subcontracted engineering services ensuring supplier conformance to agreed service commitments, best capability and value of service. - Promote a positive, continuous improvement team mindset in line with the Eaton leadership Model attributes and high ethical standards. - Develops and manages a 5-year rolling budget including capital investment needs for equipment and facility's, engagement with business leaders to demonstrate value and return on investment for capital spend aligned with business strategy. Identifies risks and opportunities. Coordinates with other site functional leaders to ensure clear and consistent communication. - Other tasks as assigned by the Product Line Engineering Manager Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills are vital for the role which will require working on multiple projects and activity's engaging your direct team as well as allocated and contracted resources in delivery of the teams commitments and the report out of progress at team and leadership levels. Previous experience working in a safety critical arena, such as aerospace, automotive, rail or nuclear industry would be advantageous, although applicants from other high technology engineering backgrounds will be considered. This role reports to the UK Fuels Product Line Engineering Manager." Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Function, with 1 year people management Skills: - Practical background in engineering test and product development, management of subcontracted service delivery, facility maintenance and compliance and project management - Passionate leader of people who is able to inspire and develop others, ability to break down complex technical issues and develop practical solutions.
