Ward 409 is an 18-bedded ward, which provides care to Neurological and Renal patients. The ward is acute in nature and requires a Sister/Charge nurse that remains calm under pressure, is willing to learn, and possesses exceptional leadership skills.
The post holder will be expected to provide clinical leadership to our nursing and support staff alongside the existing Senior Sister. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual who has excellent communication skills, and the ability, drive, and enthusiasm to motivate the team to provide high-quality patient care. You will need to have good organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to demonstrate leadership, and a good understanding of patients who have neurological and/or renal conditions.
The Sister/Charge Nurse role involves patient and staff education and student teaching. Collaborative working is also a fundamental part of the role, which involves working with the consultants, dieticians, Neurology CNS, and therapists who all work together for the benefit of the patients.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, acting as a deputy when the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse is absent. You will also provide effective support and leadership to staff, patients, and carers on the ward.
* Delivery of clinical practice is based on policies, guidelines, and evidence base to improve the outcomes and experiences of patients.
* Professional clinical advice and judgements will be provided to the multi-professional care team in relation to patient care and achieving positive patient outcomes and experiences.
* Safe, effective high-quality care will be delivered with compassion, dignity, and respect.
* Documentation will be accurate, legible, and timely relating to current patient recording systems, both written and electronic.
* Information Governance will be adhered to, and action will be taken to address deficits and/or escalated appropriately.
