Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Staff Mess Supervisor to join our team working at HMP Millsike, Moor Lane, York, YO41 1PS.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the shift, ensuring the team is motivated and provides excellent customer service. You will be responsible for supervising and assisting enhanced prisoners in cooking and preparing food according to recipes, food handling and sanitation procedures.

1. This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Shifts range between 7am - 1.30pm - leaving your evenings and weekends free.
2. The hourly rate is £13 per hour.

A day in the life of a Staff Mess Supervisor:
1. Ensure the team is motivated and provides a service focused environment.
2. Assist in the supervision of Enhanced Prisoners - assisting them with cooking and preparing food on site.
3. Effective use of all appliances including grills, fryers, ovens, broilers etc.
4. Ensure cleaning schedules are in place and followed by staff in order to maintain high standards.
5. Operating the till and cash handling - exploring upselling opportunities and providing excellent customer service.
6. Making drinks and serving food.
7. Greets customers and provides a welcoming and friendly environment.
8. Demonstrates a real understanding of the menu items and can explain it to customers in an enthusiastic manner - is able to train new starters.
9. Cash management, giving change, recording orders, cashing up.
You will be set up for success if you have:
1. Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have a legal right to work.
2. Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
3. A confident leader who is comfortable supervising and guiding a small team.
4. Previous experience is desirable however full training will be provided.
