Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’. We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
Are you an experienced Support Worker or Care Assistant?
Are you looking for flexible shifts to work around your current commitments?
If so, maybe our Bank Support Worker role is for you!
We are currently recruiting for Bank Support Workers in Caithness to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health concerns to live independently in their own homes.
As a Support Worker, you will support these individuals with anything they need, so you can expect to administer medication, support with personal care, help the people we support to clean and maintain their homes, encourage and support them to get out and about and enjoy their favourite hobbies and activities.
We can offer a variety of shifts from Monday-Sunday, which includes day shifts and sleepovers. Please note that we do not offer sleepover-only roles - all staff are expected to work some day shifts so they can get to know the individuals we support. The gentlemen we support have different support needs and have tailored care and support plans. They also have many interests and hobbies between them including swimming, music, eating out, cooking, arts and crafts. One of the gentlemen also has an allotment. They are outgoing and fun. You should have a calm, supportive approach and be highly motivated to support and develop a range of life skills including cooking, cleaning, managing finances, scheduling and attending appointments, support with personal hygiene, shopping and cooking. You will have a positive and flexible outlook to your work with good communication skills. Experience with mental health and/or learning disabilities would be an advantage. We are seeking applicants who have availability to work long shifts, weekends and sleepovers.
Your values:
We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; from people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to us, so we look for people with:
* A problem solver
* Resilience
* Patience
* Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
* A strong work ethic
* Reliability
* Honesty
* Determination
