Summary About the position: This position is located at the Marketing Office, RAF Croughton, UK. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The incumbent may be required to travel away from duty station for official business. Responsibilities Responsible for obtaining and validating program information from all Services activities for the purpose of promoting and advertising programs and services. With little or no guidance prepares a wide variety of advertising and publicity materials including fliers, brochures, base bulletins, posters and calendars, etc., to best promote the program or facility. Designs and develops informational and/or seasonal promotional and publicity materials, as needed, to include writing, layout, artwork, and printing. Answers phones, greets visitors, maintains routine office supplies, delivers and picks up mail from distribution, orders forms and manuals, and performs pick up and delivery of publicity items to base facilities and other organizations. Prepares forms for duplication services and types or prepares other forms, reports, calendars, etc. Distributes Services publications. Prepares weekly recording of Services events. Provides customer assistance and training where needed. May be required to present briefings to a wide variety of audiences. As requested, assists in the development of new Services programs. With little or no supervision designs, maintains and updates the Services Web page and the Pathfinder. Assists in developing and implementing marketing programs for the Services Squadron. Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research. Provides or arranges for photographic support for Services functions. Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as Right Start and Newcomer's orientation. Provides oversight for the Services printing operation and reviews and approves incoming requests, prepares documents for printing, makes change recommendations to customers, designs publications, cuts, folds, collates, and staples finished print products. Researches and makes recommendations for equipment and software to improve customer services and the organization's efficiency. Directs the activity of a lower graded Visual Information Specialist. Must be proficient in visual composition and layout with experience of graphic design software to include Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office programs (MS word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) in visual composition and layout. Desirable to have experience or knowledge in designing advertisements, posters, brochures and other promotional material. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills. Proficient and versatile in using MAC computer software. Work independently in a fast-paced environment that is deadline oriented. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Customer service skills. Graphic Design Portfolio is desirable. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
