We have an exciting opportunity to join the administration team within Obstetrics, to work as an Admin Assistant/Receptionist within the Ante Natal Unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills are essential to the post and MUST be shown in your application; if these qualifications aren't listed on your application, you will not be shortlisted.
Standard weeks will be hours worked Monday - Friday 08:30-17:00. There is an occasional requirement to work shifts in a Monday - Sunday 07:30-20:00 pattern to cover Delivery Suite reception.

Main duties of the job
To provide efficient and effective administrative support within Maternity Services at both Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside District Hospital. This will involve:
1. Carrying out admin and reception duties such as meeting/greeting patients and visitors to the unit, booking patients in via the electronic patient systems within the ante natal and delivery suite areas as and when required.
2. Answering telephone calls dealing with appointments and answering any queries or diverting the call to the appropriate health professional/service.
3. Assisting in locating, tracking, transportation/delivery and storage of case notes using an off-site electronic system to store and retrieve maternity case notes.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE (Level A-C) standard or equivalent NVQ2.
* RSA 2.

Experience
* Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.
* Effective teamwork.
* Experience of recording information accurately within IT systems.
* Previous work in a reception/administrative role.
* Experience of supporting clinical teams in a clinic setting.
* Previous experience of working Admin and/or receptionist experience in a healthcare setting.
