My client (nursery) in Cranleigh is seeking a deputy room manager. Please only apply if you have a minimum level 3 qualification in a UK recognised early years qualification.
This position will start off as a term time position but will turn into a 49 weeks a year position from September 2025. Hours from 08:00-5:30 Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Develop and implement engaging educational activities that cater to the diverse needs of children.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the group, encouraging cooperation and social skills among children.
Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and any incidents that occur during sessions.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare and education.
Drive initiatives that promote the nursery's values and enhance the overall experience for children and families.
Skills
Proven experience in early childhood education or childcare settings is essential.
Strong leadership abilities to manage a team effectively while inspiring confidence in children.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
A genuine passion for working with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices within nursery settings is advantageous.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences.
