Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Bracknell Forrest Council, Childrens Assessment & Care Planning Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. To assess & identify the needs of children and families referred and negotiate delivery of services by determining how these needs can be best met in accordance with statutory responsibilities and council policies using best value principles.
2. Work alongside partner agencies e.g. voluntary & statutory and within the context of the care plan for children and families to ensure the provision of appropriate and effective services.
3. Promote listening to children at every opportunity; ensuring their views are heard, recorded and acted upon in an appropriate and timely manner.
4. Ensure access to translation & interpretation services as necessary.
5. Develop and maintain accurate case records and comply with the Department’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
6. Contribute to the development of services to children and families by attending and contributing positively to team meetings to promote the delivery of integrated and effective services for children in need of support and protection.
7. Attend regular supervision and with the supervisor, be able to set clear goals and interventive strategies.
8. Regularly monitor and evaluate casework and bring to the attention of the supervisor any resource shortfalls.
9. Make effective use of time and be able to prioritise workload.
10. Provide cover for the work of other team members and other additional duties commensurate with the level of the job (the nature of these will vary according to experience, competencies and the grade of the post).
11. Liaise with other professionals.
12. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
13. 3 month Temporary Contract.
14. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
