Senior Internal Communications Executive We are looking for a talented and tenacious Senior Internal Communications Executive to help us build a great place to work. The Group is a premium merchant and distributor of a broad range of building materials and products, including being a leading timber merchant and importer to corporate, trade and retail customers and has been backed by private equity firm Blackstone since 2021. Job Purpose: The Senior Internal Communications Executive will sit within the HR team and plays a key role in ensuring that all colleagues across the different Group businesses are engaged, informed, and aligned with our company vision, values, and strategic goals. You will manage and deliver internal communication campaigns that help drive employee engagement, promote a positive company culture, and support operational success. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Execute Internal Communications Annual Plan: Create and deliver a comprehensive internal communications plan that aligns with our strategic objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels. Employee Engagement: Create initiatives and communication campaigns that foster employee engagement, build positive morale, and working environment across all levels and departments. Support the HR team to deliver communications before, during and after our annual Great Place to Work employee engagement survey. Content Creation: Develop a wide range of content for internal communication, including newsletters, emails, intranet posts, videos, and presentations. Work closely with our colleagues in the HR talent team and the Marketing team. Channel Management: Manage and grow the content and usership of our internal social media channel, Engage. Own and deliver our quarterly printed newsletter, HG Connected. Work with our talent team to create content around employer brand for our LinkedIn channel. Feedback and Measurement: Implement employee feedback channels (e.g., surveys, focus groups) to monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust based on data. Conference/Town Hall Support: Support the development and implementation of Group conferences and regular Town Hall style updates including the management of third-party event suppliers are required. Adhoc video comms: Manage the editing and onwards deployment of video communications across the Group working with third party agencies as required. Key Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience (2 years) in internal communications, ideally within the construction, retail, or trade industry. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences. Strong project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to engage with employees at all levels, building good working relationships with colleagues Experience using internal communication tools such as Canva, Adobe and Mailchimp. Ability to use/learn how to use our internal digital platforms. Ability to analyse feedback, draw insights, and adapt strategies accordingly. Creative and innovative approach to communication, with a keen eye for detail. Degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (desirable). Fluent in English. Location: Hybrid, including 3 x days a week at our Pampisford, Cambridge Head Office. Ability to travel as required.
