An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the dynamic and supportive team in our local neonatal unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
As a member of our team you will be professional, reliable, safe and compassionate to babies and their families. You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team in an environment that is open, supportive and empowering.
The Neonatal Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS trust is a Local Neonatal Unit comprising of 16 cots which include 2 intensive care, 3 high dependency and 11 special care cots.
• Ensures nursing care is delivered safely and effectively taking into account the views of the parent.
• Ensures plan of care is updated as appropriate.
• Ensures arrangements for the admission, transfer and discharge of patients are made safely and effectively in line with Trust policies.
• Recognises situations that may be detrimental to the health and well being of the individual and take appropriate action.
• Carries out those activities involved when conducting the comprehensive assessment of a patient’s nursing requirements.
• Undertake relevant risk assessments in order to inform the care needs of the patient.
• Recognises the significance of the observations made and use these to develop an initial nursing assessment.
• Devises a plan of nursing care, based on the nursing assessment, taking into account the medical prescription. Do this with the co-operation of the parent/guardian
• Implement the planned programme of nursing care and where appropriate teach parents/ guardians.
• Adhere at all times to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
