Consultant Community Paediatrician with Special Interest in Paediatric Neurodisability
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic paediatrician to join our excellent team to support the delivery of our services within the Integrated service for Children with Additional Needs (ICAN) within Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are seeking to appoint a part-time Consultant Community Paediatrician delivering Paediatric Neurodisability, growth and nutrition services, and Child Protection Service as well as contributing to our medical leadership team. This is a post arising from a vacancy created by the retirement of an esteemed colleague. The appointed consultant might be required to cover other aspects of service like Community Paediatric Clinics as per the interest of the applicants and the needs of the service.
The post holder will be based in Wortley Beck Centre, but might need to travel across the city to contribute to some parts of the service.
The workload is busy, but the environment is one of support from a passionate and skilled group of paediatricians. There is a great sense of enjoyment and job satisfaction in working with and supporting children from varied backgrounds and multiple needs. We are looking for applications from candidates with experience in Paediatric Neurodisability, and with an ethos of multidisciplinary working within the community.
The post holder will play an important role in supporting the specialist training of paediatric trainees and will contribute to the undergraduate and foundation teaching programme. We support the development of medical leadership and have a strong programme of Quality Improvement and Continuing Professional Development.
Here at Leeds Community Healthcare (LCH), we are working in partnership with Leeds City Council, primary care, education, third sector and other services to be the best city in the UK for children and young people to grow up in. We exist to provide the best possible care in every community in Leeds. Community Paediatric Services provide care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds and with multiple conditions. Their safety and the quality of their outcomes are at the heart of what we do. Our service philosophy and approach is placing the child and family at the centre of delivery of care responding to their needs in an integrated way.
Come and join our fantastic team and be part of the future.
Interviews will be held on the 14th of January 2025.
