With a significant property portfolio and contractual arrangements across multiple local authority partnerships, they are focused on long-term sustainability, strategic expansion, and commercial efficiency. Following a recent merger, they are entering an exciting phase of growth, making this a critical hire to support commercial decision-making at the highest level.
Job Description
As the Group Commercial Business Partner, you will:
* Partner closely with the Commercial Director to provide financial insight and commercial decision support.
* Lead financial modelling, investment appraisals, and business case development for new commercial opportunities.
* Support contract negotiations and tenders, ensuring financial viability and risk assessment.
* Manage and evaluate the financial performance of large-scale contracts (c. £100m in value).
* Provide clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
* Assess pricing structures, cost efficiencies, and return on investment for new business opportunities.
* Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and procurement teams to drive commercial outcomes.
* Analyse financial trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.
* Influence business planning by identifying financial efficiencies and process improvements.
* Play a key role in shaping the financial strategy for the next 2-3 years as the business continues to expand.
The Successful Applicant
The Successful Group Commercial Finance Manager will have:
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with strong commercial finance experience.
* Proven track record in financial modelling, investment appraisal, and decision support.
* Experience working on bids, tenders, and contractual agreements (local authority experience is a plus).
* Strong commercial awareness - able to understand key business drivers and financial risks.
* A confident communicator who can challenge, influence, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
* High level of resilience, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Background in service sectors, healthcare, or multi-site organisations is desirable.
* Self-starter with a proactive approach to business partnering and commercial decision-making.
