My client is a well-established global organisation in the construction and infrastructure sector looking for a Financial Accountant to join for a Maternity Cover.
About the Role:
The Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
1. Preparing annual statutory accounts and gathering information from across the business
2. Managing the annual corporation tax pack, liaising with external advisors, and resolving queries
3. Reviewing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and handling tax-related queries
4. Overseeing month-end close processes and drafting management accounts for senior stakeholders
5. Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations and implementing review meetings
6. Supporting the transition to a unified country-wide financial accounting team
7. Preparing insurance renewal packs and coordinating data collection
8. Managing and mentoring a direct report
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members
3. Solid experience with statutory accounts, corporation tax, and VAT returns
4. Proficiency in management accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
5. Project management experience (beneficial)
6. SAP experience (advantageous)
