Join to apply for the Generic Mental Health Practitioner role at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Bradford District Care Trust has an exciting opportunity to join the trust as a mental health practitioner within Children Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are looking to recruit experienced band 6 practitioners (nurses, social workers, occupational therapists) into CAMHS.
The role will consist of completing assessments of mental health needs. Assessments can cover a variety of presentations and take place in different settings, including clinic and community settings. There is a need for assessments to take place in ward settings to support young people back into the community.
As a mental health practitioner, you will need to assess risk and use this to inform decision making for children and young people. We support children and young people with moderate to severe mental health presentations in the community, working to prevent hospital admission and manage crises when needed.
Mental health practitioners within CAMHS deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to children and young people. These interventions support acute presentations where risk has increased as well as more enduring moderate to severe presentations. We also provide accessible assessments and interventions to children and young people with learning disabilities.
Mental health practitioners work agilely across the district and have access to two main bases: Fieldhead in Bradford and Hillbrook in Keighley. As a CAMHS team, we work district-wide and support children and young people in hospital settings to return to the community. CAMHS is a continually developing service, with plans for services to be offered over seven days from eight am to eight pm, which will include some shift work.
Do you want to make a difference? Do you have a ‘can do’ attitude, are enthusiastic, motivated, and ready for a challenge? Do you possess excellent communication and organisational skills?
You will be working in a community-based multi-disciplinary team delivering a service to children, young people, and their families in a supportive and lively environment, where different professions are respected and valued. You will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the leadership delivery of a modernised and comprehensive service.
