Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor for autistic students at Sheffield Hallam University, providing individualised support to enhance their academic journey.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting students in understanding academic expectations and developing tailored study plans
* Fostering independence by teaching students to manage their time effectively and prioritise tasks
* Helping students develop coping strategies for anxiety, stress, and low mood
* Preparing students for new experiences and promoting confident learning
* Building strong relationships with students and collaborating with university staff to ensure seamless support
Requirements for the role include:
* Minimum undergraduate degree level (Level 6)
* Extensive training in adult autism, such as National Autistic Society Modules or The Optimum Training Course
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Punctuality, reliability, and good organisational skills
