As a Lead Cybersecurity Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization, you are an integral part of a team that develops high-quality cybersecurity solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. You will be responsible for executing critical cybersecurity architecture solutions by identifying, creating, and communicating risks, mitigation options, and solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support project goals.
Job responsibilities
1. Develop tooling to continuously monitor controls, including a sampling engine and tools supporting a controls compliance engine.
2. Engage with technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future cybersecurity needs.
3. Define the technical target state of cybersecurity products and drive the achievement of this strategy.
4. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance cybersecurity of software applications and systems.
5. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to improve and assess cybersecurity design and credentials for existing systems and architecture.
6. Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of new cybersecurity technologies.
7. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
2. Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions and controls.
3. Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages such as *NIX Scripting, Python, SQL & GraphQL, Splunk, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
4. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
5. Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
6. Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, including continuous integration, delivery, application resiliency, and security.
7. Proven expertise in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud computing, AI, machine learning, or mobile development.
8. Deep understanding of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
9. Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
10. Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend optimal solutions for future architecture.
11. Experience communicating effectively with senior business leaders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
1. Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, and components.
2. Experience in cybersecurity design and engineering.
3. Experience in disaster and cyber recovery planning and testing.
4. Experience working with external auditors and regulators.
5. In-depth knowledge of vulnerabilities such as OWASP, NIST, SANS.
6. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, AWS are advantageous.
