Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastering techniques and be proficient in using both power and hand tools. This role involves working on various projects, including residential and commercial properties, where you will apply plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and durable finish. A good understanding of masonry and carpentry will be beneficial in this position.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning and repairing as necessary.
2. Mix plaster according to specifications, ensuring the right consistency for application.
3. Apply plaster to walls and ceilings using appropriate techniques to achieve a smooth finish.
4. Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and bricklayers, to ensure project timelines are met.
5. Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during the plastering process.
6. Conduct repairs on existing plasterwork, including patching and re-surfacing as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
8. Assist with other construction tasks as required, including basic welding or roofing duties when necessary.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Plasterer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to plastering work.
3. Knowledge of masonry techniques is advantageous.
4. Familiarity with carpentry skills will be considered a plus.
5. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
6. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality workmanship.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
8. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks over extended periods.
