Polaris Inc. is a leading global manufacturer and wholesaler known for producing a wide range of vehicles, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles, and off-road vehicles. Their UK office is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join initially on a 12-month basis, with an opportunity to become a permanent member!
The role
As an Assistant Accountant, the role varies with a blend of completing ledger and credit control roles as well as assisting with month end duties. This role offers great training, working closely with the financial controller and customer service team to learn about the end-to-end finance process.
Responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Ledger
* Customer Credit checks
* Set up/amend credit lines for customers
* Set up Direct Debit collections
* Use order management and pricing systems to process orders
* Ensure end to end dealer support for order processing for Vehicles, Parts, Garments and Accessories
* Raising dealer invoices and credits
* Resolve any shipment, delivery or invoicing issues
* Liaise and support Customer Service and IS team with queries and errors with factoring company (Debts are factored through Wells Fargo) to ensure integrity of the Accounts Receivable Ledger
* Responsibility of chasing all aged debt and providing commentary weekly and monthly
* Responsibility of chasing and allocating Government & Defence receipts
Responsibility of the Accounts Payable Ledger
* Ensuring all supplier accounts are reconciled and all payments are allocated
* Deal with supplier queries
* Setting up new supplier accounts
* Barclaycard statement – Collate and code invoices and submit for processing
Inventory Management
* Organise and conduct quarterly in-house stock counts
* Post Corrections to stock
* Notification of Vehicle Arrival (NOVA)
Assist in preparation of month end and year end accounts
Assist in the preparation of month end schedules and reports
VAT Returns
Support the Financial Controller with statutory audit and tax queries
Support the Financial Controller with Budget and Forecasts
Responsibility of the company Health & Safety
Support with any other Finance Admin tasks
Provide holiday cover for the Financial Controller
Assist with on-site deliveries and collection of goods
Skills required
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial role is required
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or part qualified Accountant or qualified by experience
* Advanced Excel skills are required for this role and are essential
* Excellent customer service skills and attitude, with a high degree of team work ethic
* Analytical mindset with the ability to work with complex financial data
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and managing your own workload
* Experience with Order Management Systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be a plus
