Financial Accountant
This role sits within the Financial Reporting sub-team in Controllership for CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, looking after the UK & Ireland business, which has an annual turnover of circa $3bn.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, the balance sheet flux, SOX controls and payroll.
This role is based out of the CBRE GWS Head Office at London Bridge, working hybrid.
Responsibilities
• Support Controllership in successfully closing the ledgers accurately & on-time each financial close.
• Post journals within the close to areas owned by Controllership. Including but not limited to: Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets, Leases, Accruals, Prepayments, Transfer Pricing and Intercompany.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the BSO teams ensuring that quality of documentation is high, general ledger accounts do not contain unrequired assets / liabilities and actions at taken on a timely basis (a key SOX control).
• Assist in managing the balance sheet reconciliation process to obtain (and if necessary review) reconciliations prepared by other parties such as Business Finance teams.
• Responsible for performance of the Balance Sheet Flux (a key SOX control and KPMG audit deliverable). The Flux is prepared monthly to fully analyse and explain movements in the balance sheet to a level where drivers are known.
• Assist the Reporting & Oversight team with explanations for movements on accounts as noted through analysis performed by the US Corporate team and those investigating Trade Working Capital.
• Identify opportunities for enhancement and / or efficiency improvement.
• In conjunction with the other reporting team members, when necessary assist in delivery of Group and Statutory audits deliverables in line with internal & external / statutory deadlines.
Person Specification
• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant or equivalent
• Technically strong on accounting standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain technical issues in a simple, succinct and understandable way
