We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team in our stockport head office. The Payroll Administrator will manage and process payroll operations accurately and efficiently. The role involves handling employee payments, ensuring compliance with UK payroll regulations, and providing support for payroll-related queries. Duties and responsibilities Process payroll for employees on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. Maintain accurate payroll records, including salaries, deductions, and benefits. Calculate statutory deductions, such as tax, National Insurance, pensions (including auto-enrolment), and student loan repayments. Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE and HMRC requirements. Submit Real-Time Information (RTI) reports to HMRC. Administer pension schemes in line with workplace pension regulations. Handle payroll adjustments, such as bonuses, overtime, and sick pay (SSP, SMP, SPP). Process new starters, leavers, and any contractual changes. Generate and distribute payslips, P45s, P60s, and other payroll documents. Respond to employee payroll queries and liaise with HR and finance teams as necessary. Support year-end payroll procedures, including tax year-end reporting. Skills and Experience Experience in payroll processing. Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, taxation, and pension schemes. Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong communication skills for liaising with employees and external agencies. Experience with HMRC online services and RTI submissions.
