I am looking for an experienced Chef to work in a lovely care home providing an elegant and peaceful setting for residential and dementia care. The home, set in landscaped gardens, has been beautifully decorated in bright, tasteful colours and is home to 66 older people.
In this post you will:
• Be responsible for the planning and provision of daily nutritious meals for residents
• Ensure the food you purchase is fresh and within budget
• Ensure all health and safety and environmental standards are achieved and maintained
• Be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team
The successful Chef needs to have:
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering (or equivalent)
• Level 2 Food Hygiene, be willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications
• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
• A knowledge of nutrition and the ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
• The ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
• A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
