Shifts: Between 7am-6pm
We are currently seeking a Senior Facilities Assistant to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in the Tonbridge area. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment conducive to learning and development.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of school facilities, including classrooms, sports facilities, and common areas.
2. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the school premises.
4. Manage a team of facilities staff, scheduling work and overseeing day-to-day operations.
5. Conduct regular inspections of the school’s facilities to identify areas for improvement or repair.
6. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for the maintenance and efficient operation of school facilities.
7. Respond to urgent maintenance calls and resolve issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within a school or similar educational environment.
2. Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.
3. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in facilities management.
4. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
6. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
